Alms Houses

Here is a section of Amsterdam that is set aside for a retirement area. The houses form a circle around a private park, which you will see on the next page. There is also a retirement center similar to this here in Amersfoort.

Each of the houses has its own little garden and from all appearances the people are very proud of their gardens and tend them well. I imagine there are all sorts of lovely flowers growing there in summer.

These houses are laid out similiar to the condominiums in the US. Near the cities few people live in individual homes with surrounding property. Usually each of the houses have a different design as well as varying floor plans and sizes.
