The first photo below shows the walkway leading to the main gate from the parking area and the second is the view of the castle from the gate where tickets are bought for the tour.
Next is a closer photo of one of the towers showing the red and white stripe decoration and a statue from the Roman Gardens.
No photo essay about a castle would be complete without at least one gargoyle and you can see ours below. He was in the process of doing his job of helping to keep water from accumulating on the castle. While you can't see the water in the photo because of the lightening I had to do to get it to display clearly, there was quite a stream. He was above one of the main walkways around the castle and unsuspecting visitors could definitely get a shower if they were not paying attention.
