Week One

Exercise One - Creating tiling Backgrounds

Sample One...Blue/Green    Sample Two...Used for background    Sample Three...Grey

I like Sample 2 best and used it for the main background on this page.

The bear background below was used for the background on the left frame with the menu.
The reason you don't see more bears on the border is because I had to use a white
background behind the table that holds the Menu so that the bears didn't obscure the words in the menu.
I've added some blank lines to so that the menu frame will scroll
so that you can see how the bears repeat.

As you scroll down the page you will see the background remain stationary and the table and text will move over it (if you're using Internet Explorer - if you're not, one can only imagine!).

This shows the first sample border.
Presumably this would be used for a splash page and
the smaller one below for subsequent pages.

This shows the second sample with a smaller border.
The border are a little hard to see since the background is the same.
But as you scroll (if you use Internet Explorer) you can see the blue border to the left.

The little bears used on this site are all Tube Bears which I got
from a free (no copyright or link required) site. On the sitting-down bears I've
added a card with a gradient background.

On Saturday we did another background in an on-line mIRC class. Click HERE to see mine
